NEEDS

Davidicus and Reseda started online zoom lessons with Masa-sensei back in January of this year (2025), and have been able to learn together with the son and daughter of the missionaries working at the Rural Church Planter Training Center, who we hope to serve alongside with.
Ali and I (Ben) also began online lessons in April with their same teacher, Masayuki-san, who is also a Christian, and is a blessing!

It was a hard transition at first, but Zane and Alora have courageously attended a new school with new friends and new words being spoken to them, and they enjoy their classroom, friends and teachers. It is also handy to have access to a library with children's books in Japanese!
Second day of school, first time being away from home.
In a step of faith, we enrolled Zane and Alora to the full-immersion Japanese Track at the International School of Portland. ISP requires grade-level language fluency in elementary grades, so although the olders couldn't apply (also presently outside our financial ability), we felt it an important step for them in anticipating enrollment in public school in Japan.

Learning a language is challenging (難しい), yet fun (楽しい), and a big investment (高い)!
For both Zane and Alora we have been awarded the full amount of tuition assistance, 70%, at ISP. This was a huge blessing! We are trusting God to provide monthly, as this is our family's largest expense. The remaining balance for this year at ISP for Zane and Alora, as well as online tutoring, totals to around $10,000.
